This project involved the creation of two bespoke breakout pods within the office corridor of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (SA Branch).
Project Overview
About the project.
This project involved the creation of two bespoke breakout pods within the office corridor of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (SA Branch). The goal was to deliver a functional yet aesthetically pleasing solution that maximised the use of space while enhancing the overall workplace environment.
Key elements of the project included the construction of stud partition frames, lined with plasterboard, and the installation of felt-lined acoustic panelling on all internal surfaces, including the ceiling, to ensure soundproofing and privacy. Each pod featured Australian Oak timber slats for the bulkhead, which seamlessly integrated with the existing ceiling structure, adding warmth and a natural finish.
To enhance comfort and usability, the pods were fitted with upholstered bench seating with backs and equipped with two LED downlights each, providing optimal lighting. Additionally, the existing electrical and data points were repositioned to accommodate the new layout, ensuring functionality within the space.

Stud partition frame & lined with plasterboard sheets.
Lined the internal surfaces of the booth with felt lined acoustic panel board including ceiling & roof of each pod.
Used Australian Oak Timber Slats as the Bulkhead above the pod structure to meet the existing ceiling.
Upholstered bench seats with backs, 2 per booth.
Two LED downlights per booth.
Repositioned existing GPO & data points in hallway wall to suit layout/position of booths.
